We are raising money for Cooking on a Budget workshops together with the Brighton and Hove Food Partnership in their wonderful new community kitchen. These workshops will be aimed at people who use foodbanks.
We are currently working in some of the foodbanks in Brighton and Hove, giving advice and help to people who’ve fallen foul of the system. You may have heard that there has been a sharp increase in the need for foodbanks in the past few years as more people find themselves in a financial crisis, sometimes unable to afford food. There are now 17 foodbanks operating in Brighton and Hove. We want to do more for people who have to resort to foodbanks and would like to put on some Cooking on a Budget workshops together with another local charity, the Brighton and Hove Food Partnership in their Community Kitchen in Queens Road. In January 2019 we are holding a quiz and raffle/auction night and in February 2019 we will hold a film night to help us raise funds. We will also be using these opportunities to encourage sponsorship of our 3 runners, Carly, Nick and Zoe in the Brighton Half Marathon in February.
